My Montreal

Like I told you in my last post, I am staying for two weeks in a temporary apartment in Old Montreal until our one way flight to New York. Our place is situated on 20th floor so we have a wonderful view of the city. We see the Mont-Royal, Quartier des spectacles with its spectacular light sculpture, and all the most beautiful buildings of downtown.

Night view from my appartment

It is the first time I see my city from this unique and spectacular vantage point. I can’t stop looking at the view and until now, I just could not bring myself to close my curtains when going to bed. I’m absorbing all this with awe.

Wondering where I am going with all this? Well, I am amazed to realize that, even in an apartment that feels like a hotel room, even in a neighborhood that has nothing in common with my beloved Plateau, even with only two suitcases carrying all that I own, I feel at home more than ever! I am dazzled by Montreal’s beauty and I can’t help thinking that, despite the fact that I will soon be living in one of the most famous cities of the world, I’ll miss mine.

Good night!
