Monday morning in the Flower District

 

Did you know that New York has a Flower District? Situated in the neighborhood of Chelsea around 28th Street between 6th and 7th avenues, this quite unique “green space” in the middle of the city is home to a community of plant wholesalers and retailers; I suggest you take a peak if you have the chance to pass close to the area someday.

Step into the jungle sidewalks and you’ll be surrounded by seven foot tall walls of bushes. The experience is even more impressing if you dare entering some of the shops; these are often even more filled with flora of all types, varying according to the time of year.

Here’s a post I wrote a few months ago about this city full of flowers I live in - the surprising presence of flowers in every corner of New York is one of the things that charmed me the most when I moved here.
